Terms of Service

The basic rules for using Meal Prep Direct as a customer, cook, chef, support user, or marketplace operator.

Last updated May 17, 2026

What Meal Prep Direct does

Meal Prep Direct connects customers with cooks and chefs for scheduled in-home meal preparation. Unless a listing or booking explicitly says otherwise, cooking is performed in the customer's home using the booking details, kitchen readiness information, and menu package approved before service.

Meal Prep Direct is a marketplace and coordination platform. It is not automatically the cook, employer, food establishment, grocery seller, medical provider, dietitian, or nutrition service provider unless a specific written agreement says otherwise.

Independent providers

Chefs and cooks may be independent providers unless Meal Prep Direct adopts a different written employment or agency model for a specific market. Chefs set their own hourly rate, minimum hours, menu packages, grocery estimates, service area, and availability within marketplace rules.

Customers choose whether to request or book an available chef. A booking is not confirmed until the required quote, deposit, and acceptance steps are complete.

Customer responsibilities

Customers must provide accurate booking information, disclose allergies and hard dietary restrictions, complete the kitchen readiness checklist honestly, and provide a safe, lawful, functional kitchen for the appointment.

Customers must not harass, threaten, discriminate against, or endanger a chef. Weapons, aggressive pets, unsafe appliances, unsanitary conditions, or other unsafe home conditions may allow a chef to cancel without penalty and may trigger account review.

Chef responsibilities

Chefs must provide accurate profile, experience, service, menu, ingredient, allergen, availability, and grocery estimate information. Chefs must disclose known allergens in menu items and may not claim a meal is allergy-safe unless Meal Prep Direct policy and verified data specifically support that claim.

Chefs must not promise medical, nutrition, weight-loss, disease-treatment, or health outcomes. Menu copy should describe food, ingredients, process, portions, storage, and reheating in practical language.

Legal review note

Jurisdiction-specific legal, tax, labor, insurance, and food-safety requirements may vary by city, state, country, household arrangement, and service model. This page describes Meal Prep Direct product behavior and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before launch in a specific market.
