Cancellation Policy
How cancellation windows work before shopping, after shopping, and for unsafe home conditions.
Last updated May 17, 2026
Before grocery shopping
A customer may cancel according to the booking's displayed cancellation window before the chef begins shopping. If no groceries have been purchased and no non-refundable booking cost applies, the grocery deposit may be eligible for full or partial refund according to the booking terms.
A chef may decline or cancel before accepting if the booking is outside their service area, availability, menu scope, safety comfort, or professional limits.
After grocery shopping begins
Once shopping starts, grocery deposit funds may be used to reimburse purchased groceries. If the customer cancels after the chef has reasonably purchased groceries for the booking, the refundable amount may be reduced by actual grocery costs, approved overages, provider fees, and policy terms.
Unsafe home cancellation
Chefs may cancel without penalty for unsafe home conditions, including harassment, weapons, unsecured aggressive pets, unsafe equipment, unsanitary conditions, or other conditions that make the appointment unsafe or unreasonable.
Unsafe-home cancellations create support and incident records for review.
